Dinner at Yakimix

Everytime we pass by along Roxas Blvd, we noticed that this restaurant is always jampacked with people dining in. We wonder what's special about their menu that you have to call for reservation in order for you to get slot to dine. Last thursday, my cousin pick me up at the office at Bonifacio Global City (yes, our office relocate in Bonifacio Global City), we were talking of having dinner in MOA or along Macapagal and we try to walked-in at Yakimix. Since it's already 6:00pm, the branch manager allow us even if we don't call for reservation. (Maybe theres more slot available at that time).

Before we pigged out, let me say a few things about Yakimix. Its an eat-all-you-can restaurant and caters Japanese, Korean, Chinese and some Filipino dishes. So, if you love japanese, chinese and korean cuisine, you must love this place. Price is P580.00 per pax excluding drinks which you can also get for unlimited and costs P55.00. This is no left-over food because if you do, you'll pay P660.00 (not sure if it's 660.00 or 680.00). Dinner starts at 6pm until 10pm. They also serve lunch.

Since i love Maki, i took a photo of this buffet table with full of different kinds of Maki. My fave maki are Tamago kimchi (the best!), futomaki and sushi maki.

the dessert table with different kinds of baked sweets, on the other side of this table is the ice cream with different kinds of flavors, fruits, cakes, etc...

the salad bar

Since i overwhelmed with the japanese food, i forgot to take a shot with the Korean, Chinese and Filipino Buffet table. After taking some photos, i started to get my food since im already hungry.

My first batch of food - tempura, brocolli, yakisoba, different kinds of maki and of course, kimchi.

By the way, you can have some meat, prawns, squid etc. grilled in the middle of your table. It is very convenient for you to have grilled food right at your table.

Before eating and while waiting for our grilled seafoods, we ask the waiter if he can give us a shot, so here it is.

Kuya bing took this pic..

Cousin bing...

I love this place already because there are lots of different dishes to choose from, you're comfortable in a couch while dining, cheap price and the quality of food is excellent, very spacious place. You should give it a try!

Yakimix is located along the Roxas Boulevard and soon they will open their new branch near the World Trade Center. For reservation, you can call at 3878120 / 3878112. Before you go there, make sure to call.

Another typhoon (ONDOY/KETSANA) hit the Philippines

Typhoon Ondoy made hit the Philippines last Saturday (September 26). It brought heavy rainfalls and flood. Power communication and electricity went down, household residents are forced to stay in their rooftop in order to survive and wait for someone to rescue them, others decided to evacuate to high places.

Some roads are not passable because of the flood. Employees of private companies or government are reportedly stranded and some cause high traffic. Vehicles in some areas were submerged in the water, people died and lots of residents particularly in Ortigas, Marikina and Cainta is still seeking for help as their houses were destroyed by the raging waters.

Our place in Laguna was affected by the typhoon and when i called my brother, he says that the flood was in our house rising up to chest level, appliances were put to 2nd floor but the saddest thing is our big screen tv was not able to put upstairs because they don't have time anymore. I was lucky enough that Im now living in Las Pinas but we are also hit by the typhoon that causes are area to flood-up which is very unusual and first time to happen. We were staying in the 2nd floor of our house until the water subsides. Good thing that we don't have work on Saturday and I was able to help my in-laws in the house.

A state of calamity was declared by the Philippine government affected by the typhoon Ondoy. Let's all help and pray for the safety of others. Our nation were left shocked of what happen in our country.

Hand Paraffin at My Spa

Yesterday (Sunday), i noticed that my hands sweat a lot, i don't know if it's because of lack of sleep or spasm. I know that my body is so tired because of work and i feel that i need to de-stress and im thinking of going to Spa. I called My Spa for an appointment and since it's weekend, they are fully booked. I ask them if they have service that relieves excessive sweat for my hands and sometimes it aches. They suggest this Hand Paraffin with massage and there's nothing wrong if im going to try it.

When I arrive at My Spa for my appointment, the receptionist told me to stay in the lobby while the spa attendant prepare the machine and other things for our session.

i took this pic while waiting at the lobby

my membership card

While waiting, i also inquire with my membership, i have to renew by November and i talk with the receptionist regarding the renewal. I said that if ever i got pregnant within the year, can i transfer the massage to my hubby because pregnants are not allowed  for some massage because of its pressure. They said that it's a case-to-case basis but usually they allowed it.

Im also excited to try this Hand paraffin with massage and before we start, they manage to explain of what were going to do, what is the benefit of this and when im going back for the next session.

the things needed for the Paraffin Hand with masssage

this liquid is melted wax, take note it's so hot and you need to put your hand in that melted wax for 10 times and it will solidized like candle.

When we start, the attendant assist me and she try to put some liquid wax to my hand using the brush and i want to shout because it so hot, to refreshen me, the other attendant give me a cold iced tea. It took us 30 minutes before i tolerate the hot wax. When the wax becomes solid, they told me to wait at least 15-20 mins before they take out the solid wax and massage my hand.

After that Hand Paraffin with massage, i feel relieved and i went home to tell to hubby that this paraffin is effective with spasm.

Our New Pair of Havaianas

This should be posted last week but since I only got my pair of havies last weekend, i got the chance to post it today and thank my friend.

Before i thank my friend, let me share what's the story behind this havies. Before my friend went here for a vacation, she's asking me thru YM of course what would be her pasalubong to Tami and me. She's thinking of buying Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse stuff toy for tami but I said that Tami already have that stuff toy and she now liked Spongebob Squarepants than Mickey or Minnie Mouse. She decided to buy us here instead of buying in Singapore because it will also cost her if she exceed the baggage limit.

Since Tami's havies did not fit her anymore. I told Jen that instead of stuff toy, why not slippers or sandals, then she suggest havainanas and i agree with her because i love flip-flops and tami started to like it too aside from her crocs. Well she don't know the price of those but she love to wear it even when she's inside the house, maybe because she's comfortable wearing it.

Our new pair of Havaianas

Thanks Jen for our new pair of havies. Tami really liked it and she keeps on thanking me because she thinks i was the one who bought it..hehe

Starbucks with friend

Sorry for the late post..

My friend Jackie and i met at ATC last Saturday at 4:30pm. We decided to have a coffee at Starbucks then i texted hubby (he's still at his office) that im with Jackie and im going home late, since he's also jackie's friend, he allowed me to go home late. When im with a friend somewhere, like in a place or as simple as this, i feel so happy because for sure we will have a long talk about life, travel, fashion, everything that comes to our mind.

We order our drinks first while waiting for others to leave their table because Starbucks at ATC are always full, so you have to wait for your turn...aarrgggggggghhhh.......

Jackie's caramel frap and my Java chip

We also order Cinnamon bread (Cinnamon's my fave)

While waiting for our table outside, we took some pics for my blog and here it is:

My friend Jackie, by the way, she's still single and looking for her prince charming. She's pretty right? Currently, she's managing their family business after resigning from work in Makati and she already has her own house, her fruits of labor after working in a big company in Taiwan. If you're interested in her, just text or message me.. harhar

And me of course...

After waiting for at least 10 mins, the guard called our attention because the table outside is already available...

Jackie talks to someone...

And me.. just holding a cigarette...hehe

After staying more than 3-4 hours, hubby is texting me already and asking what time im going home. Time's really fast and we didn't notice the time because we're enjoying our stay at Starbucks and since it's already late, we decided to leave and parted our ways.

When im on my way home, i recall all the stories that we shared and it makes me smile :)

Kids Village at SM Southmall

When our family went to SM, we make sure that the kids will enjoy the day. So when we arrived in the mall, i always think of what are the things that make Tami happy. And down to my list are Storyland, Jollibee, anything rides, food.

But since I have some errands to attend to. We went to 2nd floor, let Tami ride in the cuddle rides for several times then after that she went to this kids village. Maybe she was just curious of what's in there and why are there so many kids...

Cuddle rides - P10.00 for 3 minutes

She surely enjoys this little ride.

When i inquire at Kids Village, you can leave your child here because there are nannies that will look for your child so when i learned about this, i ask them to look for my daughter while im in the bank. You just have to pay P200 for unlimited time because i know that 30 mins to 1 hour is not enough for every kids especially when they like the place.

Kids Village rates are so affordable

Who wouldn't want to experience this little hanging bridge...

Little tykes for little kiddos...

this little house for little kikays...

And this little playpen full of plastic balls....

After playing for almost 2 hrs. we went to Jollibee to eat. Of course, its tami's day so we have no choice but to eat at Jollibee, she even asked the waiter if she can have the balloon, then the manager heard and gave her one from the birthday party which we don't know who the celebrant is.

Sorry, the pic is blurred

While waiting for Papa and Mama who do the grocery, hubby and Tami play at Storyland. For sure Tami really enjoys that day, i remember from the start when we're planning to go to SM and when she heard that 2 letters, you will see her excitement because she was preparing her clothes to wear, and she gave me her bag to carry etc...

Oh..I miss my childhood years....

Cosmetics: Maybelline

When hubby went to Sm, I ask him to buy me face powder since mine is nearly wiped-out. I want MAC but it's not available in SM Southmall, What i said is just look for an international brand so i can try it also. When Jen was here, i was asking her to just give me her Revlon face powder because its like new and i also tried Revlon before. But since its the only powder she had at that time, she just said that when she will send Balikbayan box on December, she will bought me one in Singapore. Thanks in advance jen *wink*

Hubby bought this Maybelline face powder for only P199.00, he told me that when he was in Department store, it was the first name that he saw and he did not think twice. For me, Maybelline is also good, you will find maybelline products in all department store and also gives you reasonable price. This brand has been around for years and proven it's quality.

He also told me that after getting this powder, he also look something for pasalubong and since tami and i loves chocolate, he just headed to food section and he got us this:

FerreroRocher chocolates

Hubby's so sweet *wink*

My high school friends...

Everyone's not updating their friendster account, maybe because they're busy playing games in Facebook. Good thing about this social networking is that we could get updates about friend's life without seeing each other personally. But I also admit that it's still better to see them in person and make another set of cool memories together. Upon logging in to facebook and friendster and seeing pictures of friends, i have to say that i miss my barkada already. I miss how we spend time together, gimik all night, sleep at friend's house, shopping, coffee, anything that we can do. We were complete then, but now? We were busy with our different careers and family.

Just wanna share updates to my high school friends and i am proud to say that we are still friends for more than a decade...

JENNY: She's currently working in a hotel in Singapore and recently she went back here for a 10 days vacation with her boyfriend. For once, i know that her stay was really limited and i also understand that her time will be for her family but good thing that we still manage to see each other on her last day.

RONA: She's now married and residing in Bulacan. She's obviously happy and contented with her hubby now, also busy with their business and now waiting for the delivery of their first child. All in all, she is blessed. I am happy for her. After living in America for more than 5 years, im happy now that she's back and maybe for good.

DARILYN: For what i know and what i heard from Jen, Dar's been busy with her family now that her hubby is back from abroad. But im still glad that we are still attached in a way.

AZENITH: She's studying again! Hopefully after school, she got cool and high-paying job like mine. She's also single and hoping to have a boyfriend as soon as possible. She's the first person i turn to whenever I need someone to talk to, whether i'd talk about my rants or achievements in life, anything because she's only busy studying and lurking around the school...hehe

AILEEN/NOREEN: It's so sad that i don't know anything about them anymore. I'm not sure if they're in  laguna right now and very attached to their hubby at the same time. The last time that we saw each other was...aaahhhh...i can't remember, Aileen and Noreen, when was that? *sigh*  Aileen, if ever you'll come across to my blog, just give me a shout ok?

JANELYN: She's now in Thailand working in a pre-school. Seriously, Janelyn's been a good friend to me, i always remember her funny jokes and her crazy attitude...haha..I hope and pray for her happiness, with her family and to my little inaanak Jala. Im planning to go there next year and i'll let you know so we can meet and talk. I miss your kakulitan...

Ria: She's now residing in US and now busy being a wife and a mother to her cute little kids. I don't know anything about her other than that..*sigh*. Because way back before, we seldom see each other because of her modelling career but she make it a point that when we see each other, she's at her best, she make little funny things etc...And now that we're not seeing each other personally, I know that she's still there whenever i need a friend in times of my down moments. Yes! that's Ria. Miss you girl!

I have grateful to have friends who point out my flaws, insist that I'm wrong, and tell me that I'm stupid. they're unforgivably honest and they are the real deal. I love them because despite the short-comings, nuisances and imperfections, they love me for who I am. I miss you all dearly..

I f i miss someone on my friends list (high school friends), you know that your my friend, its just that i can't mention all here in my post.. Hope we can have get-together again...You know that im just a text away!

Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant

For those who love to eat at Bubba Gump, they're having promo of 15% discount, im not sure if its only for cardholders of certain credit cards or discount for all who dine in.

I have always love Bubba Gump because of the place or vicinity which is in greenbelt area, I love the interiors of the place, you can also dine outside for an al fresco ambience, the staff are attentive and friendly.

Mostly, i love the food, i remember when we dine here with friends, just to give a head's up for the price of what we always order in Bubba gump:

Bucket of Boat Trash             P725.00
Shrimp New Orleans                555.00
Dixie Style baby back ribs        825.00
my highly recommended!

I also recommend their desserts, the alabama mud pie (P320.00) which the size is so big that your family or friends can share for just one order.

Overall, the food was delicious, the drinks were excellent. A little bit pricey but you can drag your friends or family and share because the food servings are good for 2-3 persons.

Merienda at Pizza Hut

Yesterday (thursday), I was absent from work because i had to attend my scheduled check-up with my OB because i was delayed for 2 months and we thought that i was already pregnant. It so happen that i stopped using pills for 5 months because we were planning to have our 2nd child and my OB said that stopping from pills will change my hormones that's why i experience abnormality with my monthly period. Just an fyi, Im not pregnant!

After my check-up, i went to Watson's inside the department store and bought our toiletries then hubby's cousin and i met at the mall. While lurking around the department store, hubby called me because he was going to Sm together with his officemate and i said i'll wait for him so we can eat merienda together.

After 30 mins. of waiting, hubby arrive together with his team-mate, his officemate did not want to join us and when i asked hubby why his teammate is not joining, he just said that when he learn that i was there he is shy with me.

We chose to eat at Pizza hut because i love their lasagna. We ordered lasagna for me, Alfredo fettucini for hubby and his cousin and hawaiian pizza for us.

me and hubby while waiting for our food...

Abaksa Beach Resort

Sept. 6, 2009 (Sunday)

My father-in-law's birthday is Sept. 7 and we held it last sunday (sept6) together with some of their relatives. Since the kids loves to swim, we headed to Batangas and we choose the Abaksa beach Resort because the kid's pool is nice and perfect for the kids.

Abaksa is 2hrs drive from Manila via tagaytay, when we are planning to have a swimming, we always headed to batangas via tagaytay because it so easy to get there, no traffic, and we can also view and stay for a while at tagaytay, when on our way to Batangas, tagaytay climate is so cold and fog is all around the road that sometimes we cannot see what is outside the van.

us in the kid's and adult pools

And my baby surely enjoys the water, she just want to stay in the pool even lunch time, i managed to bring the food beside the pool so she can eat, good thing that they allowed us to bring the food.

After eating lunch, i rest for a while then play computer games.

By 5:00pm, we packed our things because its raining so hard and its so cold staying in the water. My baby is so tired that after i took this pic see below), she just lie down at the car seat then drink milk and fell asleep, also hubby got tired and fell asleep too.

I just listened to my ipod while were on our way to Manila.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Cousin JC's 7th birthday

Sept 5, 2009 (Saturday)

We attend my cousin JC's 7th birthday. Sure it was a children party but when we arrive, it looks like they're having fiesta because their food is from lunch, merienda and dinner. Lunch and dinner is served only for relatives and merienda is for the visitors.

By 3:00pm, JC's visitors are starting to arrive especially kids, his classmate and neighbor. They we're all excited for the games, clown's presentation, give-aways and food of course.

After the games, they're distributing the food to everyone and while waiting, i got the chance to take a photo with his birthday cake because i like his birthday theme, Cars, perfect for a boy.

My daughter is really enjoying the party because this is the first time i saw her participating in the games, watching the clown, fall in line while the birthday boy is distributing the birthday give-aways, she's not scared anymore.

My baby is now a big girl now....

Restaurant at MOA: VIA MARE

After tiring day working, i texted one of my college friend to have dinner in MOA as we have so many stories to tell with our work, families and friends.

When we met after office, we texted some of our friends but unfortunately no one is available because of their schedule (some are working in call center also), then we headed to MOA, since we don't know where to eat dinner, we lurk around the mall, the bay area. And since we don't want the people and ambience at that time at the Dampa area, we go back to mall and look for some dishes we crave to. We ended at Via Mare.

Via Mare, a filipino dish and affordable to dine in, nice view and you can hear songs from the band.

After looking for food and since we're hungry, we ordered Rellenong Bangus (P485.00) rice, lumpiang ubod and fruit shakes for both of us.

Rellenong bangus, i dont have the picture of the other food coz we're so hungry na..

After eating, we still stay there for at least an hour and make kwentuhan about our lives. Then hubby called me to checked what time im going home. After talking with hubby, friend and I drop-by the Sbarro to buy pizza for my hubby and lil girl (yah, tami loves sbarro), then we went home. So little time for me and my friend.
