Cebu trip...(sorry for the late post!)

Cebu is considered to be one of the best provinces in the Philippines and an ideal place to stay for business or pleasure. I have never been to Cebu that’s why im so excited when Badz said that he wants to go to Cebu. I decided also to celebrate my birthday there, when I asked my cousins if they want to go there, Kuya Bing said he wants to go also with his brother EJ, Then we booked our flight to Philippine Airlines and we still have two weeks to prepare, I surf the net to look for the hotel and some useful guides. We also asked badz cousin on where to stay and he suggest that we book our hotel stay somewhere in upper town and we choose Castle Peak Hotel among others because it is very accessible to Ayala and most of the nightlife places. We booked two De-Luxe rooms for us, the hotel is nice and cheaper, it’s only P1400/day but since I have yaya, they charge her another 400.

What do we do in Cebu?

Just like everybody else, a trip to Cebu won’t be complete without visiting the Sto. Niño church and the Magellan’s cross. Aside from visiting the downtown spot, we also visit Badz cousin’s place who resides in Mandaue City, then go to different places to see the old historic places like the colon street, the Univ. of San Carlos, Capitol building etc…

For the food, we try the Hukad sa Golden Cowrie, the newly opened pinoy resto in Ayala Mall Cebu. The place is nice especially if your table is at the overlooking of the Ayala Terraces but unfortunately, our place is inside because the resto is full, we just took pictures outside the resto, and also, I must say that the food and service is superb!

At night, we went to famous The Top – situated high on top of Busay hills, an excellent sight-seeing spot offers breathtaking view of Metro Cebu where you will feel the freezing hilltop temperature while viewing the place, going there is quite difficult who does not have friends or relatives in Cebu. Normally, you would hire a car which costs you a thousand bucks just to get there. Luckily, we have relative that is already based there who has a vehicle and brought us there. They even treat us to a dinner and also the sight of Donna Cruz house. We try Mr. A’s bar and grill and had a sumptuous dinner there.

We also went to Asiatown in Lahug which they call THE WALK in I.T. park, for those who love nightlife and coffee break, this is the perfect place to unwind. To name a few tenants, the Walk has currently Moon Café, Casa verde, Figaro Coffee and a lot more and since it’s full, we transfer to another place, good thing we have our service...hehe. They decided to bring us at Off-road Coffee, the two-storey shop beside the Sykes building, there we just ordered different coffees to try since they don’t have it here in Manila and stay there for almost 3 hours, kwentuhan lang kami dun.

On our last day, morning is our sked of shopping of our pasalubong, we went to Shamrock stall where we bought the Barquillos, otap and others. The famous tabo-an market, where we bought several kilos of different dried fish and what’s good about this market is every vendor is equipped with thick plastic and plastic sealer so that the plastic will be sealed maybe because of the smell. If your not familiar with the smell, you will find it stomach-churning. We even asked the vendor to put all the dried fish we bought in a box and resealed it. Then after, we went to 7D Sales office to buy a box of dried mangoes, syrup and mangorind.

At 2:00 pm, we check-out on our hotel and headed to Tta Arlene’s house for our lunch, there she prepare our lunch which is Lechon Cebu (really yummy!) and the Crab with giniling na baboy (I don’t know what it is called), soup and also the desserts…Thanks tta for the superb meal!

While waiting for 5:00 pm to go to Mactan airport for our departure, we just watch tv and sleep because it’s really tiring, 3 days ka ba naman gumala and konti lang ang tulog! Si tami at yaya sa hotel lang pag nagala kami sa gabi kasi kawawa nman ang baby ko kung isasama pa nmin. There you go….umuwi kami ng masaya…till next trip!
