Kari-Nabe, House of Hot Pot Rice

Hubby and i had an impromptu dinner at SM Center after my work and before his work. It should be in Classic Savory but we saw that there's newly opened restaurant called Kari-Nabe. It was quite surprising that SM Center has now Japanese Restaurant and we tried it since we never heard of Kari-Nabe before.

The restaurant is clean, newly furbished and the interior is nice. I love the lights hanging on the one side of the place. The servers are very accomodating maybe because we're the only diner that time.

The menu... nothing new from a typical japanese restaurant. The name of some meals are quite interesting and the pictures makes me salivating..haha

the simple interior of the restaurant

Kari-Nabe Iced Tea (P45.00)

Hubby and i wonder why is it color yellow?

Gyuniku (P190.00)

Somehow, this restaurant made Gyuniku taste deliciously. Consists of sliced beef topped with egg in a hot pot. I dont know what is the red one on top. Hubby loved the sauce.

The Gyuniku sauce...

Tori Tamago Sarada (P130.00)

Obviously its a sandwich like clubhouse style. The difference is instead of having ham, the first layer of this sandwich is the tonkatsu meat and on the second layer is the supposed to be the tamago and for those who dont know what tamago is, its the sweetened egg omelet but in this sandwich, tamago is made and tastes like the typical egg sandwich that usually Filipinos have for breakfast! However, the salad on the right side impressed me, i think it is the crab stick sliced thinly and made it as the salad and its really delicious.

California Maki (P90.00)

Tasted as the regular Maki like with the other Japanese restaurant. But hey its my favorite!

Overall, the food here was good. Prices are cheap for a Japanese restaurant.
