Classic Savory, SM Center Las Piñas

Hubby and i together with our 3-year old daughter headed to SM Center to eat and buy some groceries for the house and also milk and diaper for my daughter. Since SM Center Las Pinas just opened recently, there are only few restaurants that you can dine in and we choose the Classic Savory since hubby not yet tried Savory before.

You'll see this paper mat in your table that tells the story of the humble beginnings of the Savory.

Started from 1950 by the Ting brothers in the busy district of Escolta Quiapo serving mainly lomi in their panciteria. Soon, the popularity of the panciteria grows and the brothers discover other dishes and also create a special recipe for their fried chicken and gravy and from then on The Classic Savory was born and the menus are now expanded and they include some Chinese dishes.

After we give our orders, hubby noticed that the servers are not that approachable and they also stay in one coner of the restaurant and keeps on chatting with other servers instead of welcoming their guests. tsk. tsk.

After a couple of minutes, the waiter serve our drinks, they dont have fruit shakes so hubby go for softdrinks, we also order their Savory Blend Iced Tea priced at P45.00

Here's what we order...

We ordered half of their Specialty, the Savory Chicken that comes with a slice of Saba banana priced at P195.00. What make this chicken special is the combination of soft meat and the skin is so crispy. The chicken is really juicy and hubby agreed to me.

the said special gravy...but i dont feel its special...not spectacular but not bad either.

My favorite Yang Chow Rice (P175.00). The traditional chinese fried rice with bits of meat and shrimp and also veggies like peas, carrot  etc.

Crispy Shrimp Puff (P195.00). This dish was really good, it was cooked perfectly, the breading was puffy and not oily. My daughter love this dish.

I think i'll be going back to this restaurant because of the food. I just dont like the service, if i remember, we are halfway-done with our chicken and rice and the shrimp is still not served, we even ask the manager to followed-it up. I dont know why it took them so long to serve the shrimp.

Anyway, this restaurant is good for family gatherings for dinner or lunch. I love it. Good food.
