3D2N CDO-Camiguin-Bukidnon Trip Series: Camiguin Tour (Gui-ob Church, White Island, Walkway to Volcano, Sunken Cemetery and Ardent Hot Spring)

Since im in-charge with the trip, i talked with the receptionist in Paras Beach Resort regarding with our Camiguin Tour. With so many travels i've been to, getting a package with travel agencies consists of tour na hindi naman maganda, i mean its better to transfer to another place than stay to a boring and not so nice spot, for sure you know what i mean.

Our package consists of a whole day tour (maximum of 8 hrs) to the following tourists spots:

Walkway to Old Volcano      Sto. Nino Cold Spring
Sunken Cemetery      J&A Fish Pen
Gui-Ob Church       Ostrich Farm
Katibawasan Falls       Soda Water Swimming Pool
     Hibok-Hibok Ardent Hot Spring

Of all the tourists spots, we chose only few that is worth a visit. Entrance fees are on us. We pay P250.00 each in the resort for all the entrance fees.

Relaxing before going to our tour.

Before leaving the resort for the tour, we saw Aiza Seguerra together with her special someone :)

 Our tour service.

Nagulat kami when we saw our service. We thought were just using a cab (mini jeep) for our tour kasi for sure mababasa kami. Instead, the receptionist gave us towel each incase daw mabasa kami during the tour.

The towels

On the way to tourist spots.

Our First Stop: Gui-ob Church

The place is open to anyone and there are some persons in the place assigned to tour other people. According to the guide, This is the only church in Camiguin but when the volcano errupts years ago, its one of the affected spot. Nasira daw talaga lahat.

 Group picture

The new small church. The old church was gone and with the help of other people, they were able to construct this small church.

On the other side of the small church is the bishop's convent. Behind us is the old convent, also damaged by the volcano eruption.

Before leaving the Gui-ob church, don't forget to share your blessings by giving donation to the church. Donation box can be found near the entrance :)

Second Stop: Walkway to Volcano

This is the only picture that we had with the walkway to volcano because we never tried going up. We are not prepared to go on a 100 steps stairs to see the place... Nakakapagod no.. Ayaw na din kasi namin tumagal because we want to go in White Island.

Third Stop: Sunken Cemetery

Sunken Cemetery was famous in Camiguin. It was only photo opt to tourists going to Camiguin. There was some people offering a boat ride going to that cross for a small fee but thinking of cemetery under that water is scary kaya we opted not to go.

Our next stop then was Katibawasan Falls, it was so far from the resort and we never stayed long. Our itchy feet wants to go in White Island na kaya hindi na kami nagtagal dun, we dont have photo either. Instead, we went back to resort and prepare ourselves for the white island.

FOURTH STOP: WHITE ISLAND

We were renting sana the Kayak but the resort didn't allow us to bring the Kayak in the white island, its only allowed nearby. Sayang naman :( The resort's boat brought us to the island. What's good about the white island is may signal. We were advised to text the receptionist pag magpapasundo na kami sa white island back to resort. Bongga dba?

On the boat, behind us is the Paras Beach Resort.

We were so amazed with the white island. Ang init nga lang. You can rent beach umbrella for only P200.00.

Photos in White Island:

Photo taken by hubby using his ip4. This photo was his favorite kasi buhay na buhay daw yung kulay ng background. Picture perfect pa yung Hibok-Hibok volcano.

According to them, this long stretch of sandbar in white island is visible only during morning. Pero hindi na daw ngayon, you can go there anytime of the day. Some told us that its best to go there at around 3pm till late in the afternoon which we did.

There are only few tourists when we arrive at around 3pm. We took lots of picture and swim like there's no tomorrow. Nag-swimming ako kahit meron ako. hehe

Ang taong hindi takot sa araw.

We enjoyed the most in white island. We stayed until past 5PM. Ang sarap tumambay, mag-swimming at maglakad sa powdery white sand. Ang alat nga lang ng tubig. hehe

Last Stop: Ardent Hibok-Hibok Hot Spring

This is the time we use the towel provided to us by the resort. We use the towel on our way to the Hotspring with our wet clothes. We arrived past 6pm already. Medyo scary lang yung way going there.

For sure naman you're familiar with natural hot spring.

 Entrance fee: P30.00 each.

Sa white island hindi ako masyadong nagtagal sa tubig because its really hot at ayoko naman masunog yung balat ko pero dito sa hotspring, nagbabad talaga ko. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam namin, parang nawala lahat ng pagod namin because of the hot water, parang mina-massage yung likod namin sa mini falls sa pwesto namin. Kahit gabi na marami pa ring tao.

The places that we go to during our Camiguin tour is really worth the visit especially the white island and the hotspring. White Island is the best! Hope they maintain the place as clean as it is.

3D2N CDO-Camiguin-Bukidnon Trip Series: Going to Paras Beach Resort in Camiguin

Our first destination was Camiguin. From airport, we headed directly to Balingoan port for the ferry going to Camiguin Island. It's the only way to reach this island and it's also my first time to ride a RORO boat. After this trip, i swear to myself not to ride a RORO again. Kwento about it later. Enjoy sana ang camiguin trip kaya lang bigla akong nagkaron ng monthly period. Kainis dba?

The small port of Balingoan

Ticket to RORO going to Benoni port of Camiguin costs P160.00 each for one-way. You will also pay less than P5.00 for the tax yata yun. Tickets to and from Camiguin is not included in E-Philippines package.

Travel time from Balingoan to Benoni port is almost one hour. When we arrive in Benoni Port, our service in Camiguin was already there and it took us another 30 mins land trip before reaching the famous Paras Beach Resort in Camiguin.

Paras Beach Resort was once a family vacation resort of the Paras family until it opened to public sometime ago. It was the famous resort in Camiguin and lots of tourists prefer the Paras Beach resort and i read a lot of positive reviews from the net.

The reception area

The lobby in the reception area. The place was well-maintained and the people are very friendly.

 Checking-in...

When we arrived, all of us were given this souvenir necklace from the resort.

The camiguin island. Maliit lang pala talaga ang Camiguin kaya by ferry lang ang way to go there.

Welcome to Paras Beach Resort!!! hehe

The inviting pool of Paras Beach Resort.

We arrived on Sunday kaya medyo konti na lang ang guests. Mostly foreigners ang nakikita namin sa resort.

From the package that we got, the resort gave us 2 Family Lofts rooms.

Our room key

The rooms were really big. A big family of 6 to 10 can stay in 1 loft, actually all of us can stay in one loft but since we were given 2 family lofts room, apat lang kami sa isang room.

Hubby and I stayed on the loft at sa baba yung dalawa naming kasama. Tig-isa silang kama. hehe. We loved the bed because its so soft and comfy, the aircon was so cold at ang sarap matulog with the fluffy pillows.

The view outside our room.

The white line that you see in the photo is the white island, it's 5 minute boat ride from Paras Beach Resort that's why its recommended to stay in this place.

Hangin' around the place.

When we arrive in resort at around 10am, the first thing that we did is to eat lunch after settling our things in the room. We were so hungry that time kasi naman ang layo talaga. Mga PG lang ang peg.. We were also scheduled for our Camiguin tour that same day kaya after we had lunch, nag-rest lang kami ng almost 2 hours then we leave na for the tour. (on my next post)

Planning of going to Camiguin? Here's the room list of Paras Beach Resort in Camiguin.

You can also get tours from this resort.

Paras Beach Resort's Aqua Sports..

Camiguin Tour on my next post!

3D2N CDO-Camiguin-Bukidnon Package from E-Philippines

Prior to our trip, i was browsing lots of blogs about CDO trip to know if its easy to do it by ourselves or its more comfortable to get a package. My officemates were suggesting to avail the E-Philippines package because they experience really good service with them.

First, we were looking at the table (See image below) to know how much it will cost us. The rate below is quoted per person. Before deciding on which package to get, i have to read reviews and look for some photos first in the internet.

We chose the Mallberry and Paras beach resort for our accomodation and the final rate was P5,531.00 per person.

After paying the complete amount. They send us the travel voucher together with the itinerary for the trip days before the trip.

Why i like E-Philippines?

During our trip, the E-Philippines staff were communicating with us if we need anything or asking how's our trip. They were very accomodating at mabait talaga sila...

Our service for the whole trip.

The van was really clean and almost new. Always advance pa sa meeting time. We're a group of 8 and kami lang ang sakay ng van. Kung sa iba yun malamang pinag-sabay-sabay na lahat ng client with the same itinerary.

The van driver

The driver that was assigned to us were really nice and easy to talk to. Sya pa ang tagakuha ng picture namin pag group picture. They also served as our tour guide kaya during the trip he was talking and making kwento about the place na pupuntahan namin.

One more thing that i liked with them is that they don't take advantage of tourists. Take example in the Del Monte Clubhouse, i was telling him to join us in our lunch and it was our treat to him for being nice. He just said "No mam ok na po ako, may baon po ako. Kayo na lang po, i-enjoy nyo po ang food and place d2".

Overall, E-Philippines service was really good. From start of the trip until we got home maganda ang service nila. I highly recommend it.

3D2N CDO-Camiguin-Bukidnon Package

Come February, Me, Hubby together with his 6 officemates will go to CDO to try water rafting. Thanks to Cebu Pacific's promo because we scored a P1,200 roundtrip ticket each few months ago. Most of hubby's officemates will be their first time to go an out of town trip and first time to ride the plane kaya mga excited. They were expecting me to be the one who will organize the itinerary. Being a traveler for a long time, i always go with the travel package that travel agencies offers lalo na pag mga relatives ang kasama ko unless kasama ko mga officemates ko, dun i learn to travel the budgeted way or sometimes Do-it-yourself trip.

Hubby warns me not to get the expensive package kasi i have to consider daw his officemates, baka di daw magsamahan pag mahal. With this tour, nahihirapan ako kasi di ko alam kung yung ipapakita ko sa kanila na package ay ok ba sa knila or hindi. Ayoko naman mag-DIY kasi mga first time nga nila at for sure ako lang ang mapapagod once na nag-DIY kami kasi i have to think always kung ano ba ang mas ok or mas mura etc...

One of my teammates went to CDO last year and availed the E-Philippines package which is P4,926 each inclusive of all the tours except meals, entrance fees in every tourist spots and the fare to ferry going to Camiguin, according to her it is the cheapest package that she saw online. I checked it kaya lang i read the reviews of the accomodation in CDO kaya na-dissapoint ako but i love the inclusions of the package.

Here are my choices from 2 travel agencies:

E-Philippines Travel

Travelers Pod: P5,197 per person
N Hotel: P5,628 per person

Package Inclusions:
Overnight standard aircon accommodation in Cagayan de Oro - twin, triple and triple sharing
Overnight aircon accommodation in Paras Beach Resort/ Camiguin - 2 Family Lofts
daily breakfast
Whitewater rafting adventure with lunch ( Beginners course)
Dahilayan Adventure Park/ Forest Park/ Del Monte Plantation/ Gardens of Malasag
Camiguin Countryside tour- aircon
White Island boat trip
Roundtrip complete land transfers (CDO/ Camiguin/ Dahilayan Adventure Park)

Camiguin Countryside Tour includes:

Ardent Hot Springs/ Katibawasan Falls/ Macao Cold Spring/ Taguines Lagoon/ Santo Niño Cold Spring/ Tausan Falls/ Gui-ob Church Ruins/ Sunken Cemetery/ Vulcan Daan/ Tangub Hot Spring
* actual sites to be visited will be dependent on schedule and route.

In the E-Philippines offer, i love the inclusions of the package but i dont like the accomodation on the cheapest package. I chose another accomodation (Traveller's POD) in CDO and the price will be P5,197 per head kaya lang the rooms doesn't have their own CR's and it's a big No No for me. I always want the room with its own cr.. If i were to choose, ill go with N Hotel at P5,628 per person, very minimal difference at least we're all comfortable. Sana lang ok sa kanila yung P5,628 **wishing**.

La Montana Tours and Travel offer:

For a group of 8pax, our package rate is P5,800 per person - inclusive of the following:

  1. Land (Aircon Van) Transportation for 3 Whole Days
  2. Round Trip Sea Transfers (Barge) to Camiguin
  3. One (1) Night Aircon 1-Star Class Homestay/Inn Room(s) in Camiguin (*see site for choices)
  4. One (1) Night Aircon 1-Star Class Hotel/Inn Room(s) in Cagayan de Oro City (*see site for choices)
  5. Zipline Bundle Fees with Certificates @ Zip Zone Dahilayan Adventure Park
  6. White Water Rafting (Basic Course) Fees with Pictures @ Kagay White Water Rafting (*Note: To upgrade to the Advance Course, just add P300 per person.)
  7. Guided Tours of Camiguin and Bukidnon
  8. All Entrance Fees, Shed Rental and Banca Rental Fees
  9. No Meals
The difference with La Montana Tours is that they have a tour guide. The package includes all the entrance fees and the fare to Camiguin. The downside of the package is the accommodation also.

Still don't know what to get kasi i have to show it pa to hubby's officemates but for me sobrang mura na nito. Ewan ko na lang kung mamahalan pa sila d2. If they'll allow me to decide ill get the E-Philippines offer with N Hotel accomodation. I told hubby to explain to his officemates that this package does not include all the expenses in the trip and that they have to prepare at least P10,000 each. We'll see kung anong sagot.

Im excited :)
