Newly Opened Resto in Southmall: Racks

As i've mentioned in my previous post, Racks opened another branch in Southmall. Actually Southmall has Racks before pero nagsarado. I dont know the reason but good thing that they are now grilling again. When we saw the newly opened Racks, we decided to have our dinner there. Na-miss na rin naman namin ang Racks.

Hubby busy texting his agents...

The server show us their new offer, i dont know if its for holiday season or for their regular menu. The one that she showed us was good for 2 people but hubby want to order his favorite Pork Ribs.

My favorite condiments from Racks...

Our Dinner:

Premium Boneless for me

The meal consists of quarter slab of Boneless Pork, Rice and 1 side dish

Pork Ribs for Hubby

Also contains quarter slab of Pork Ribs, Rice and 1 side dish

Side Dish

I chose the Mac and Cheese and the Gravy and Fries as our free side dish.

Our Iced Tea

Since yesterday was the opening day of Racks, the management encourage every diner to take a survey for their store so they will have an idea of what is needed to improve.

Survey Form

While eating i was looking around and see if they have something that needs improvement.

Look at the place.. do you think may mali?

As i was answering the survey, i dont see any bad stuff in their store, in fact i even praise the attentiveness of the staff. The only bad comment that i wrote was on the food, the gravy on the side dish was really salty that i almost puke after eating the fries dipped in that gravy.

Anyway, there's nothing to worry naman kasi syempre first day pa lang naman ng Racks and the staff assure naman na it will not happen again. Im sure of one thing though, w will be back again in Racks Southmall.

Date with my brother at Racks..

I know that this post is so delayed and i neglect this blog lately. Well, its better late than never..

Two weeks ago, my brother texted me that he's going to Buendia and he also brought the medicine that im asking for. After my office, i went directly to Buendia and met with him then we went to MOA to have some chat and dinner.

We arrived at MOA by 5pm, we window-shop, bought some CDs (click here), chat while strolling and look for a good place to dine and stay without lots of diners. We passed by fish and co. and Racks, my brother chose the Raks because the place is almost empty, only 2 tables were occupied..

Well if you dont know, we love Raks ever since..

While waiting for our orders, we chat and chat, update with our lives and what we miss during our childhood years.. I miss those times na nagkukulitan kami when we we're younger etc... talk about our work and plans in the future... Our kids, our family, our relatives...hay...

This is my youngest brother, he was in Manila for 2 days to attend the seminar for his work.

Since i was still full because of what we ate in the office, we only order the Racks Classic Pork Ribs in half rack..

This meal is consist of 2 Pork ribs, 2 breads, and 2 side dish... We also ordered rice and sodas..

When we were done with our meal, the manager approached us to fill in the survey..

They also had an on-going raffle every month that can win you a gift certificate from Racks...

Sana manalo ako...hehe

Back at Racks for Lunch

With my previous post, i said that hubby wants to celebrate my birthday in advance because im not around on my birthday. Instead of going to ATC, we decided to go malling at MOA since some of my cousins and titas are there. We had lunch at Racks. I also said before that my cousins love dining at Racks. I also love the pork ribs there thats why if were looking for an affordable food, we always go there.

its my cousin Marvil, he dont know that i was taking a picture of him...hehe

After having lunch, my daughter and niece ride this mini ferris wheel and hubby accompany them. There they were looking at me while i took some photos of them.

After that we went to Club princess outlet to look for some souvenirs-to-be on my niece 7th birthday. Aren't they cute in this pic? I was scouting for some prices in this outlet and its so expensive here.

Back at Racks: The Best Ribs in Town

Racks has been around for years and I can recall that we always dine here in Racks in their Southmall branch before.

Beef Ribs in quarter cut P340.00

It was my tita's order since she's avoiding eating pork.

Family Platter - Pork Ribs P1,085.00

Consists of 4 slices of Pork ribs, 2 sidedish (coleslaw and baked beans), rice and pitcher of soda or iced tea. The pork just slided off the bones. I love this pork ribs drenched in its signature sauces.

coleslaw - one of the sidedish

While waiting for the change, we took some photos..

me

No doubt Racks is still the best ribs in town but i  prefer the pork and chicken because when we had our lunch, the pork that was served was superb, i love the taste and tenderness of the meat and for our dinner, we ordered the chicken and beef ribs. I was dissapointed with the beef ribs because it was too dry but its ok. Prices are pretty darn reasonable.

Shopping escapade with my shopaholic tita :)

Saturday. Dec. 12, 2009

My cousin (kuya bing) and i went to MOA to meet-up with my tita whose going to shop and she needs us to be her shopping company, in short she needs alalay...hehe...And my other tita join us also so we're a group of 4 then my shopaholic tita contacted her daughter-in-law and her unica hija so she can shop for her one and only apo. I thought she will only buy celfone for her grand daughter but her son (my cousin bj) requested to buy her what she wants.

Our main itinerary was to shop for CJ's needs (as requested by her father whose in US right now).

CJ - my pamangkin

kuya bing, cj and me - resting

This was my first time i accompany my tita in her shopping escapade and i was surprised on how she buy stuff. If i am an impulsive buyer, she was twice or thrice impulsive buyer than me.

What she bought?

Nokia E63 for her - P11,200.00
Nokia 2630 for CJ - P3,400.00
Gmask for the kid celfone - P1,500.00
Assorted clothes for CJ (barbie, gingersnaps, Purple candy, Peppermint) P6,700.00
Florsheim shoes for CJ worth P1,650.00
Merrell shoes for my uncle - P3,650.00
Lacoste Bag for her P5,800.00
Havaianas P795.00

Did i miss something? And take note: she pays her purchases in cold cash! she's afraid of debt..haha
I only bought Aldo shoes for my hubby.

Of course, she treated us in Racks for our lunch at around 1pm, her fave restaurant. I remember when Racks has branch before in SM Southmall, we always dine there. We love the Pork Ribs there.

Back in our shopping escapade, at around 6.30pm we watch the parade and fireworks at the back of MOA then we meet also with our other titas and cousins who happens to be there shopping for their christmas needs and we talk about the christmas plan for our family.

After an hour of chikahan, my other tita said that we join them for dinner and this time its her treat and guess where we dine for our dinner....*drumroll* Racks again! I asked them to transfer to fish and co. or to dampa because weve been there for lunch but my cousins want in racks so we have no choice but to stay there.

Hay..nkakasawa eating lunch and dinner at the same restaurant in 1 day...kuya bing and i and my other cousins bought fro-yo at The White Hat kasi naumay kami sa Racks...

We went home around 10.30pm. I was so tired that day.. Sumuko kami ni kuya bing sa tita ko..It was her 2nd week of shopping because last week she and kuya bing met at greenbelt while I was in ATC, she bought herself a Phillip Stein watch and also bought Crocs for their whole family.. How about that? And were thankful to be her pamangkin because sometimes she also give us or buy us branded stuff when she's in abroad.
